Manuka honey is distinctive with its damp earth aromas and slightly bitter aftertaste. Medium sweet, rich in flavor with notes of barley sugar balanced with mineral and herb. Our honeybees forage freely on the nectar produced by manuka flowers in the Central Otago high-country in early summer. For centuries the Manuka plant has been used extensively in traditional Maori medicine and has grown in fame throughout the world for it’s antibacterial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties.

 Kamahi honey has earthy flavours and after tones, is bold, with a distinctive strong and sweet aroma. Perfect for the everyone to enjoy or as a thoughtful gift in its own right! This 500g jar of high quality Kamahi contains many antioxidants. Antioxidants have been linked to not only healthy skin, but also for heart health. Kamahi trees flourish in the native forests of South Westland. Each summer, deep in this untouched wilderness, our bees gather the plentiful honey they find in the masses of creamy kamahi flowers.

Viper’s bugloss, a brilliant blue wildflower, produces a versatile liquid honey that has mild sweetness and a hint of zesty tang. The five-petaled flowers of viper’s bugloss begin as pink buds, opening up to reveal vivid blue flowers with bright red stamens, loved by bees. They produce a good honey flow when most other nectar sources have dried up for the year. The unusual name refers to the seed, which resembles a viper’s head and has long been known as a folk remedy for snakebite.
