Thyme 500g

Thyme is a Central Otago specialty honey, with a strong herbaceous aroma. It is savoury sweet to taste and is a sought-after local delicacy.  These handy 500g size's would only last about a week in our house, so if this is a sneaky selfish pot just for you then 500g should do it, but if the whole family are honey lovers we recommend our 1kg value jar!

Originating from the Mediterranean, thyme was bought to New Zealand during the gold rush of the 1800s by miners who used the herb for medicinal purposes. The hot, dry summers and freezing winters of Central Otago have enabled wild thyme to flourish. The closer you get to the lilac-coloured haze covering the hills, the more intense the beautiful aroma of thyme’s powerful essential oils.

You will receive your jar safely packaged in recycled and reused cardboard, or if this is a sweet treat for someone, please let us know and we will do our best to make it look special. Handwritten notes can be added too.
